The conversation began with the resignation of former USSS Director Kim Cheatle and the new USSS Director Christopher Wray's inability to answer questions during today's hearings. Gaetz suggested there might be a conspiracy to cover up the Secret Service's failures following the assassination attempt on former President Trump's life.
Gaetz commented on the recent debate between President Biden and Trump, stating that from the first question, it was evident that Biden struggled to provide coherent answers. He criticized Kamala Harris, calling her a California politician who has no place in middle America.
Discussing the assassination attempt, Gaetz revealed that information has surfaced about the would-be assassin flying a drone over the event perimeter hours before the shooting occurred.
When asked about social media and free speech, Gaetz expressed concern over the government's willingness to fund corporations that support censorship. He claimed that Congress lacks the courage to challenge the establishment and fight against these practices.
Gaetz also touched on his disagreement with Kevin McCarthy at the RNC and explained why he believes Congress members should not be allowed to trade individual stocks, highlighting the potential for conflicts of interest.
