Ohio Gov Mike DeWine Talks Gun Control, Vaping, and Opioid Crisis (LISTEN)

"Our #StrongOhio bill will increase the number of private sale background checks in Ohio while also protecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners," says Governor Mike DeWine about a new series of proposals he would like to see the state's General Assembly pass. The plan includes increased penalties for illegal gun sales but stops short of stricter red flag laws discussed in the immediate aftermath of the Dayton mass shooting this summer. Instead, DeWine's proposal calls for a comprehensive safety protection order plan. Some critics say the #StrongOhio plan is not tough enough; but, Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley calls it "an important start."

We talked about what this would mean for Second Amendment advocates in our state with Governor DeWine on The Scott Sands Show -- click here to listen with our free iHeartRadio app. We also discussed his recent calls to ban flavors in the vaping industry and updates on how Ohio is dealing with continued opioid epidemic.
