The Toledo City Council ethics review committee met for the first time yesterday and one of things brought up was the possibility of an ethics pledge for city councilpersons. Councilperson Katie Moline is chairman and outlined the mission statement for the newly formed group "restore the public’s faith and trust in city council," The group discussed short and long term goals going forward and one of those goals could be an ethics pledge required of council members. Rob Ludeman questioned the need and wondered what the penalties might be if a member refused to take the pledge.
