Thousands of people lined the streets around the Huntington Center yesterday waiting for a chance to get inside and hear President Donald Trump kick off his 2020 reelection campaign. They came from all over Northwest Ohio and from as far away as Wyoming, Chicago, and Flint, MI for a chance to see Trump live. Around 8,000 made it inside and a few thousand more watched on the jumbo-tron outside set up on Huron St.
They were not disappointed. Vice-President Mike Pence, after a stop at Schmucker's Restaurant, spoke to the crowd just before the President took the stage. The crowd roared with approval when Trump hit the stage and cheered throughout the speech at mentions of Toledo, Jeep, and other local touchstones.
Were you one of the lucky ones that made it inside? I want to know your reactions to what the President had to say.
