Recently the NBA has made it clear that it wishes team owners to stop using the term owners and replace it with governor. Adam Silver head of the league says the office had started a move away from owner years ago and that the word has racist overtones. He would like all teams to use the word governor or alternate governor. Many of the players in the league are African-American but there has been no outcry in public about the word.
Do you think the word owner should be dropped from use by the NBA, and if so what other businesses should drop it?
