President Trump will announce his new immigration plan this afternoon and pundits are already making predictions about what might be in the plan. The President's son in law, Jared Kushner, is said to be responsible for much of the plan which is built on a merit based system of immigration. Other parts of the program cut back on which family members can enter the country making it only immediate family. Full details will be released in a White House ceremony this afternoon after two p.m.
Talking heads on NPR yesterday suggested that Republicans would have a hard time supporting the new guidelines because they don't like immigration and that the President's base would be angry about the new merit based system.
