Local nurses, technicians, and support staff at Mercy Health St Vincent Hospital entered their second day of strike action picking up support. Local firefighters 92 pledged their support for the walk out saying that they "could not be more supportive" of the over 900 workers who have walked off the job. The strike was called following the failure of talks that have been going on since July 30. Sticking points are cost of health insurance and "on call" time. Workers at the St Anne Mercy Health facility have also walked off in solidarity.
