The Kentucky Derby was run Saturday afternoon and for the first time in its' 145 year history the race was decided by a disqualification of a horse. Not just any horse, but Maximum Security the horse which had a fairly good lead at the end of the race. The field of 19 had to wait over 20 minutes following the finish of the race before stewards finally declared a winner, Country House. Trainers from across the country have mixed feelings about what happened but the majority agree with the decision saying that Maximum Security and the jockey put other horses in danger and could have caused a life threatening accident.
Even President Trump tweeted out his displeasure over the outcome blaming it on political correctness. Twitter users were not kind in their responses to POTUS.
