Authorities close to the Jussie Smollett investigation in Chicago now say there are doubts about whether or not Smollett may have been attacked by strangers as he originally claims. Two Nigerian brothers with ties to the Empire actor were detained by Chicago PD and sources say the brothers claim they were paid to stage an attack on Smollett. If that is the case the actor could face three years in jail for filing a false police report.
Smollett has released a statement denying any involvement in the staging of an attack and at this point continues to cooperate with police.
