AT&T announced yesterday the details of a deal to combine its content unit Warner Media with Discovery, to compete with streaming service giants Netflix and Disney. The deal still will need approval from regulators but shares of Discovery were up as much as 9% Monday morning before falling 5% at the end of regular trading. AT&T’s stock price fell 2%.
The new service would have content from HBO, Discovery, CNN, Food Network, Animal Planet, TBS, TNT, and The Cartoon Network among others. Would this change the services you already subscribe to like Netflix and Disney+?
