Since being named by President Biden as lead person to deal with the border crisis VP Kamala Harris has yet to visit the border. According to the White House press office she has spoken with the President of Guatemala but has done no other reported visits or conversations on the growing crisis. The week a report says that some children being kept at the detention facilities have suffered abuse, but Harris instead of visiting the facilities traveled to Chicago. While in the Windy City she visited a bakery for a piece of German Chocolate cake. Reporters questioned Jen Psaki about the stop and wer curtly told "And so, while she was there, like many Americans, she got a snack. I think she’s allowed to do that,"
