'Winning Culture': Fans, Celebs Celebrate Cleveland Browns Playoff Victory

Cleveland Browns fans are celebrating another Victory Monday after the team beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 48-37 on Sunday night (January 10).

That was the first time the Browns have made the playoffs in nearly two decades, and the team’s first playoff victory since the 1994 season.

When the Browns' 18-year playoff drought ended, many fans and celebrities expressed excitement. Jimmy Fallon also cracked a few jokes on The Tonight Show inspired by the playoff-bound Browns.

Naturally, the team, the fans and social media erupted with reactions to the historic win on Sunday.

The Cleveland Browns marked “VICTORY MONDAY” and “ALL THE FEELS” of bringing an end to a years-long drought.

Here’s what running back Kareen Hunt said:

“I believe we are going to be a real good football team for a long time. Being from the City of Cleveland, it is huge. Honestly, I could not be any happier. Growing up as a kid on the East Side, being able to help this team win and being a part of something great and changing the culture means a lot to me.”

Quarterback Baker Mayfield spoke about “turning this thing into a winning culture.”

"I want to congratulate our fans, I grew up one of them," acting coach Mike Priefer said. "I know what it means.”

Players FaceTimed head coach Kevin Stefanski from the locker room. Stefanski couldn't attend because of COVID-19.

Odell Beckham Jr. took to Twitter, hoping to catch a glimpse of “the streets of Cleveland right now,” where people celebrated the “beyond special” victory.

Ohio’s curfew that officials implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic remained in place Sunday, forcing Browns fans watching the game at a restaurant or bar to pack up and go home during the game.

But that curfew didn’t stop cheering, chanting, barking and even a celebratory fireworks display in downtown Cleveland (the Cleveland Police Department warned citizens to celebrate safely).

LeBron James, a Cleveland sports champ, and The Price Is Right Host Drew Carey also took to Twitter to cheer for the Browns (Carey also had some beloved "Cleveland Rocks" and Whose Line Is It Anyway? memes to retweet in honor of the Browns).

The Cleveland Indians gave a meme-inspired nod to the fellow Cleveland team.

Support and celebrations began immediately, and it wasn’t lost on the team.

Up to 100 “rowdy fans” greeted the Browns when the team landed back in Cleveland from Pittsburgh. WEWS Photographer Mike Vielhaber said on Twitter he’s “been here for both Indians and Cavs returns, this one was by far the best.”

The Browns are slated to play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, January 17.
