Superintendent Dr. Romules Durant Explains TPS 2020 Reopening Plan

Toledo Public Schools will re-open for the 2020 -2021 School Year on September 8, under a Red Light status.

This means that the most severe conditions are present and the district will be operating 100% remotely. Students will have access to all TPS learning resources and be provided a device and reliable Wi-Fi, as needed. State licensed and credentialed educators will teach live each day.

Students, families and staff should be prepared to remain under Red Light through the end of the first semester. However, families should also be aware that the status could change before then.

A red light indicates the most severe conditions are present and we are operating with only the virtual learning option.

A yellow light status means that the virtual option is available, but physical attendance in a school will be on an “A/B” schedule.

A green light status indicates school is in full session, as it has been with previous years.
