1370 WSPD morning show host Fred LeFebvre had to chance to speak with the organizer of the upcoming Back The Blue March Sunday July 26 in the city of Oregon. Terry George's father is a 29 year veteran of OPD and the family wants to honor Toledo Officer Anthony Dia who was killed while on duty July 4 of this year.
The march will start at 3 o'clock at the current Big Lots parking lot at the corner of Navarre/Coy. We will introduce the raffle ticket sales and have some speakers talk to spread our message. We will then be marching along Navarre down to 280 (covering the overpass). We will span the sidewalks on the sides of the road to make our presence known. We will then march back to the rally point (Navarre/Coy) to continue with fellowship/speaking and finish off the raffles. There will be a 50/50 and prize raffle. ALL proceeds from the raffles will be split in thirds between the OPBA, FOP, and the family of Officer Anthony Dia. We are also selling shirts on the Facebook event page for $25. All the proceeds from the shirts go to Officer Dia's family alone.
