The 50th annual Toledo Greek American Festival will not take place in full form this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers announced Tuesday.
The full event, which is hosted by the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, will be postponed until Sept. 10, 2021, but a drive-through dinner will resume during this year’s scheduled dates — Sept. 11 through 13, according to a news release.
Event organizers are still working on the logistics of the drive-through dinner. Festival chairman George Sares said the group is looking at offering three dinners with potential options of chicken, lamb, and beef shish kabob. Patrons would be able to order ahead or drive up and order a dinner and drive off. Organizers are calling the event “A taste of Greece.”
More information about the event will be posted to holytrinitytoledo.com in the coming months.
