Lucas County Sheriff's Office - The Lucas County Sheriff's Office is implementing changes to the visitation schedule in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Blarney Shamrockin' Shuffle - Runners and walkers who were planning to take part in the annual Shamrockin' Shuffle will have to wait to shuffle another day, as the race and Guinness World Record attempt are postponed. According to event organizers, "you'll still be part of supporting Toledo Firefighters Local 92 Muscular Dystrophy Foundation and setting a Guinness World Record at a future date. We know everyone is very excited to be a part of the this Guinness World Records attempt on Friday evening in Downtown Toledo."
Islamic Center of Greater Toledo -The center is suspending congregational Friday prayers, effective immediately, until further notice. Imam Deeb will be delivering a lecture similar to a sermon each Friday, broadcasted live on Facebook at 1:30 p.m. A YouTube link will also be e-mailed to anyone not on social media. Sunday school and Sunday lecture are both canceled until further notice. Imam's Sunday lecture will also be posted live on Facebook.
Toledo Lucas County Public Library -After monitoring news and guidance from theCDC,Toledo Lucas County Health Departmentand evaluating information that indicates that aggressive early social distancing can stop the virus from exponentially spreading, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library (TLCPL) will close all locations and Mobile Services to the public beginning on Sunday, March 15.
Toledo Municipal Court - The Toledo Municipal court is implementing efforts in social distancing. As part of those efforts, fines, fees and costs that are due between March 11 and June 1 shall be continued an additional 90 days from the original due date. In the event that a due date falls on a holiday or weekend, the due date shall be continued to the next business day. For information on a particular case, check the Clerk of Court'swebsite.
Toledo Symphony Orchestra - The orchestra's performance set for Friday, March 13 will take place at the Peristyle, but will be closed to the public. Instead, the performance will be available digitally to the public on the Toledo Symphony'swebsitestarting at 8 p.m. The full performance will also be available on they symphony's YouTube channel for 30 days following.
Starting at the close of the day Monday, ALL Ohio K-12 schools will be closed for three weeks.
MAC Tournaments - The Mid-American Conference is implementing a restricted attendance policy. The MAC men's and women's tournaments will continue as scheduled but will be closed to the general public. Only institutional personnel, student-athlete family members, media crews, and official team party members will be allowed at the games. Fans who purchased tickets for the MAC tournaments can either be refunded in the form of credit toward next year's tournament or fully refunded.
OHSSA -The Ohio High School Athletic Association has postponed all remaining winter tournaments until further notice.
Springfield Local Schools -An in-school survey will be given to middle school and high school students in the coming days regarding internet access at home and availability of technological devices. This is not being done to scare or alarm anyone, but an effort toward preparedness and planning.
Perrysburg Schools- Perrysburg High School has had a policy in place where a student with 2 or fewer absences and at least a "C" average in a class can opt out of the exam for that class. That policy is being changed due to the presence of the coronavirus. Now, if a student qualifies by March 20, they will get the opt-out incentive. This is a way for the district to encourage students who are sick to stay home and get better.
Rossford Schools - In light of Gov. Mike DeWine's order against large indoor gatherings Wednesday, Rossford school officials are postponing large indoor events until further notice. Events with the possibility of 100 people or more are currently being postponed, including Saturday's dedication ceremony and tour of Rossford Junior-Senior High School, next week's spring musical, the winter sports banquet and any other events of that nature.
University of Toledo -Classes canceled March 16-17. Online classes only until at least March 30. All events with expected attendance of 100 or more are canceled. Bowling Green State University- All face-to-face classes will become online only after students get back from spring break on March 23. Students may choose to return to their permanent place of residence or return to campus, where appropriate social distancing and enhanced preventative public health and hygiene measures will be actively instituted. Classes will continue on both campuses as scheduled through Friday. During this week, students are urged to make choices that are best for their own personal health situations. The university is extending its previous travel restrictions to suspend all BGSU supported domestic and international travel for students, faculty and staff until May 15. Only approved, essential business travel will be permitted. The university is suspending all BGSU events greater than 100 participants effective March 14 through April 17. Terra State Community College -Spring break is extended one week. Starting March 23, courses will resume as distance-learning (online) only. Students are not to report to campus. Students are to monitor their Terra State email accounts for further instruction.
Lourdes University- Now through April 1, all courses will occur in an online format except labs and studios (art and music). If students don't have online access at their residence, they are to contact the Academic Success Center at 419-824-3963. Field and clinical education will continue. All campus buildings will be available for use through this period; residence halls and the dining room will be open. The Lourdes health center will be available after spring break.
Owen Community College- Classes are canceled starting Wednesday, March 11 until Sunday, March 15. Online classes, however, will continue as scheduled. Students who have internships, clinicals and directed practices should report as scheduled unless otherwise notified by their facility. Spring break starts Monday, March 16 and lasts until Sunday, March 22. Owens will operate on a modified schedule the following Monday until April 6. In-person classes will be transitioned to alternative delivery. Students will be contacted by college personnel regarding their specific courses.
University of Findlay - Classes are canceled on Friday, March 13. The all-campus meeting scheduled for the same day will be postponed.Beginning Monday, March 16, traditional classroom courses will be delivered remotely until Tuesday, April 14. Classroom experiences like labs, performance classes as well as instruction and animal care at the farms are still being evaluated. The university will provide additional guidance this week. Effective Monday, March 16, all university-sponsored events or events on university property will be canceled at least until Tuesday, April 14. Indoor sports on campus will not be permitted. Outdoor sports, however, will continue at this time. Effective immediately, all university-sponsored international travel is suspended. This includes new travel and already booked trips. University-sponsored travel must be approved by the appropriate cabinet member. Travelers returning from Level 3 warning countries are required to report their exposure to the Cosiano Health Center and observe a 14-day period of self-quarantine. The university will remain open, including student support services, academic resources, residence and dining facilities, athletic, and recreation facilities.
Mercy College of Ohio:As a precaution, and to help mitigate any risks to COVID-19, Mercy College of Ohio will be moving all face-to-face lecture class meetings to an online format until further notice, beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020. All classes are cancelled for Monday, March 16, 2020. This includes both the Toledo campus and Youngstown location. Additionally, all co-curricular and social gatherings are cancelled until further notice as well as all international and all “non-essential” domestic travel is suspended. The college will, however, remain open for business, and Mercy College of Ohio will continue to assess the college’s and community’s conditions, as well as plans and capabilities to anticipate and respond to the rapidly changing situation. As of now, the spring commencements that are scheduled May 1, 2020 in Toledo, OH and May 7, 2020 in Youngstown, OH will continue as planned.
