LISTEN: The Arguments Against Toledo Issue 1 Tax Increase

March 17, St Patrick's Day, is Primary Day in Ohio. On the local ballot is a 22% tax increase for the residents of Toledo. This tax increase, from 2.25% to 2.75%, would give our city the highest income tax in the state of Ohio.

Patrick Gleason, VP of State Affairs for Americans For Tax Reform, details ATR's opposition to Issue 1 in Forbes today, writing "There are a number of reasons why many Toledo voters are planning to reject this cash grab, which the Mayor has advocated for with half truths and, in some cases, outright falsehoods when it comes to basic facts." Gleason was on The Scott Sands Show to discuss Issue 1 -- click here to listen on our free iHeartRadio app.

Toledo City Council Members Nick Komives, Sam Melden, and Yvonne Harper also visited the show to express their support of Issue 1, along with Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz -- all available on our free iHeartRadio app On Demand, just click the link on their names.
