FREMONT, Ohio - Sandusky County Prosecutor Timothy Braun will leave his post after pleading guilty to a charge of negligent assault.
WTOL 11 reports Braun's plea comes in relation to a sexual misconduct case. He received a suspended 60-day jail sentence and a year of community control. He will be allowed to remain in office for up to six months and has agreed to step down by June 30. Before then, he is not allowed to make court appearances and cannot run for re-election. He will be allowed to work remotely but is not allowed to report to the prosecutor's office.
An investigation into Braun began in May after the Sandusky County Sheriff's Office received complaints from at least five women working as administrative personnel in the Sandusky County Prosecutor's Office. Sandusky County Sheriff Chris Hilton asked the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to investigate the allegations of sexual misconduct.
