TOLEDO, Ohio - Former Toledo official Bill Burkett plead not guilty Tuesday to multiple charges relating to a May crash that left a teen with serious injuries.
WTOL 11 reports Burkett plead not guilty to charges of aggravated vehicular assault and vehicular assault. Burkett had also faced OVI charges, but those were dismissed in June and a grand jury indicted him on the two new charges.
The May 14 crash left 15-year-old Noah Tolson with serious injuries. He spent 10 days in a medically induced coma.
Burkett is the city's former commissioner of economic and business development. He stepped down from the position after he was initially charged in the crash.
