TARTA Reverses Course, Announces Free Election Day Rides Will Continue

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority is reversing course on a decision to end free rides on Election Day

Traditionally, TARTA has offered fare-free rides on Election Day. But on the eve of the midterm election, a short statement on their website announced the end of the free trips.

"TARTA will no longer offer free rides on Election Day effective the Tuesday, November 6, 2018, General Election," the statement read.

That decision was reversed Monday afternoon. TARTA announced the change on their Twitter account, but no reason for the reversal was given.
