(Toledo, OH) Survivors of priest-sex abuse in northwest Ohio are demanding an investigation into the depths of the scandal.
The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests called on Lucas County prosecutors and the Ohio attorney general's office to open a grand jury probe on Monday.
Diocese of Toledo officials say they welcome an investigation as work continues to make their list of accused priests more transparent.
According to the Ohio AG office, Ohio is a home-rule state meaning the attorney general can't impanel a grand jury without a request from a local prosecutor.
