Council to Vote on Paid Time Off to Work Polls

(Toledo, OH)  City employees could receive paid time off to work a polling location on Election Day.

City Council member Nick Komives introduced an ordinance Tuesday afternoon that would create a Precinct Election Official Leave Program for the city, and council is expected to vote on it next week.

Council member Tom Waniewski on Tuesday asked how many city employees are expected to participate, and how much money the program will cost the city.

Komives said he would review the county’s numbers and provide an estimate at a later date.
