TPD to Fully Implement Rescue Task Force by 2019

(Toledo, OH)  TPD plans to fully implement Rescue Task Force training by 2019.

Rescue Task Force training allows first responders to move into a hot zone to save lives without wasting precious time. Instead of waiting for police to clear a threat first, EMS personnel move in with police.

Toledo Police began certifying officers as RTF trainers last November and began training Toledo Fire and Rescue and UT Police in March.

Around 150 Toledo Police officers are currently trained in Rescue Task Force methods.

TPD plans to have the entire police force Rescue Task Force certified in 2019.
