Feds Funds Finance Firearm Finder

(Toledo, OH)  A new gunshot detection program is coming to Toledo.

Toledo police are planning to use some of the cash granted by the feds this week to install new technology designed to detect gunshots in the city.

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz  announced at a press conference Thursday, that the city intends to use the 492-thousand dollar grant to purchase a program called ShotSpotter.

The program is designed to detect the sound of gunshots and alert law enforcement to a specific location rather than wait for someone to call 911
