(NW Ohio) The Michindoh Aquifer study could cost more than initially anticipated.
Officials in nine counties spanning NW Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana have learned it will cost about $100,000 and take 16 months just to have the U.S. Geological Survey fully characterize the size of the Michindoh Aquifer.
Officials say however, that to really understand how much water it holds and gets returned to it from rainfall will take a commitment of at least 10 years of monitoring at an unknown cost.
