Toledo's pie shop bandit has been caught.
Police say 47-year-old Stephen Simmons broke into the diner last week before the thief fled the scene with 3-dollars and 50-cents from the cash register.
Simmons was caught on surveillance video which made him easily identifiable, leading to a surrender to the police this weekend.
Simmons is also accused of breaking into UNB Soul Food on South Reynolds Road.
Despite the break in, the restaurant remained open for business and had a major turnout shortly after the news of the robbery was known.
The owners of Schmucker's took to social media to express their thanks for the support received from patrons since the incident occurred.
