COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Toledo Mud Hens have capped their season with a division title.
With a 10-5 win Sunday over the Columbus Clippers and a loss by the Indianapolis Indians, the Hens have clinched the International League West championship. It's their first division crown and their first playoff appearance since 2007.
The Hens will face IL South champs Durham in the semifinals of the Governor's Cup playoffs and will host games 1 and 2 of the series. The Hens are 4-6 against the Bulls this season, but the two teams haven't met since July 26.
Game 1 of the best-of-five series will take place on Wednesday, September 5 with a 6:35p first pitch at Fifth Third Field. Game 2 will have the same start time on Thursday, September 6.
