Fulton Co. Courthouse to See Renovations

(Wauseon, OH) The Fulton County Courthouse is about to get a big facelift.

The 135-year old courthouse in downtown Wauseon needs some upgrades to meet today's need for safety and security, so Fulton County commissioners will open bids next month for a multi-million dollar renovation project. The courthouse clock-tower saw some repairs a few years ago-- but it's been decades since the last major upgrades.

The $4 million project is expected to take ten months to complete, which will mean common pleas court will have to temporarily move to the county administration building. Probate and juvenile court will transfer operations to a separate facility on state route 108.

The courthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in the 1970's.
