Ohio's Congressional Delegation Remembers McCain

(Washington, D.C.) Flags across the entire state of Ohio will fly at half-staff in honor of recently deceased Arizona Senator John McCain.  

Governor John Kasich ordered flags at all public buildings be lowered from now until the day of McCain's interment.  Kasich released a statement describing the senator as an iconic American hero, patriot and statesman without compare.  McCain passed away on Saturday after a battle with brain cancer.

Democratic Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur is commenting on the passing of Senator McCain. On Facebook Sunday, Kaptur said McCain was a fearless freedom fighter.  Kaptur expressed her sympathies to McCain's family and said he was in a class of his own.  

Senator Rob Portman is expressing his admiration for Senator McCain as well.  Portman said McCain was someone he looked to for advice.  He added that the Senate relied on McCain for his expertise on national security issues and called his life an inspiration.
