COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio sees an uptick in the number of construction jobs over the past year.
Ohio is among 29 states adding construction jobs for the past year. Associated General Contractors say 2,200 new construction jobs kept men and women working in Ohio during that time. The construction lobby says that type of work reached a record high for three states: Massachusetts, Oregon and Texas. Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Kentucky and New Jersey were the only five states in the union to see construction trades shrink during that 12-month period. The contractors' group says there is a worker shortage right now.
