(Swanton Twp., OH) A proposed business park near Toledo Express airport may take another step forward next week.
Developers are seeking a zoning change for more than 220 acres of farmland across Airport Highway from the airport, from agricultural to highway commercial.
Land Air is hoping to create manufacturing and warehousing operations next to the Ohio Turnpike toll plaza in Swanton Township, but that requires approval from the Lucas County plan commission, which already gave the okay for a preliminary site drawing earlier this year for what will be known as the Land Air Business Center.
That proposed commercial-industrial business park has plenty of momentum to build on, with a renovated TPS Aviation Center for high school students and the relocation of Holland-based Tronair to the airport, a global manufacturer of airline passenger stairs and other equipment.
