UT Hosts Ribbon-Cutting for Dorm Renovations

(Toledo, OH) University of Toledo freshman will have some fancy new living quarters this fall.

University officials plan a grand opening ceremony later today for $12 million worth of renovations to Parks Tower, the first-ever full-scale residence hall ever built on campus back in 1971.

Those renovations include new elevators, bathrooms, and renovated main lobby with spaces for students to socialize. Parks Tower now also features a new fitness center, new furniture, quiet zones, and kitchenettes.

Nearly 700 students will call the new digs home this academic year. The ribbon will be cut at 4:30 p.m., followed by an open house and tours until 6:30 p.m.
