(Bowling Green, OH) The Wood County Fair opens today at the fairgrounds in Bowling Green.

100,000 people are expected to attend the 145th edition of the Wood County Fair during its eight-day run, making it one of the largest county fairs in the region. Opening ceremonies are set to start at 7 p.m. at the grandstand, with the annual Wood County Youth Parade to follow.

Gate admission is $7 daily for ages 10 and over, with weekly passes available at $26.

The famous 4-H Milkshake Barn is already serving its sweet treats and will use 3,000 gallons of ice cream during the week-- but because of a big jump in the cost of ice cream, those milkshake favorites will be a buck more this year-- $4.

Country music icon The Charlie Daniels Band will be the featured musical act this year, performing Saturday night.
