TOLEDO, Ohio - The Diocese of Toledo announced Friday that the donation of the former Saint Anthony Church to the Lucas County Land Bank has been completed.
The process of gifting the church building and adjacent parcel of land at 519 Junction Avenue began after Bishop Daniel Thomas met with Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and Land Bank President David Mann.
"Now that the former St. Anthony Church buildings and land have been deeded to the Land Bank, I reiterate the sincere hope of the Diocese that, through the collaboration of the Land Bank and The Padua Center, the future use of the buildings and property will promote even greater outreach for the good of the local community," Bishop Thomas said in a statement.
