Overland Industrial Park Expansion Ahead

(Toledo, OH) An Overland industrial park auto parts maker is already planning a big expansion.

The Toledo Plan Commission is being asked to approve a major site plan change for a second building to be added to the Detroit Manufacturing Systems complex.

The 73,000-square foot building will operate separately from DMS with its own 60-space parking lot and separate employee entrance. While it's unclear what the next step will be in that expansion, the original site DMS chose at the former Jeep plant site was large enough for the new plant to double in size.

The port authority last month approved a revised land lease for the expansion. DMS initially hired 140 workers to put together interior systems for the Toledo Jeep assembly complex just three miles away, with plans to possible hire 100 more employees for the 40,000-dollar-per-year positions within its first three years of operations.
