(Toledo, OH) The Toledo Police Department's program aimed at taking illegal guns off the street appears to be working already.
Officers say that as of Thursday nearly 500 illegal guns have been taken out of the hands of criminals thanks to the department's program "Not In My House."
The program allows people to give guns that haven't been used in a crime to police without facing any charges. Toledo Police say they work to get more guns off the street, as homicides have climbed in the city. To date, there have been 25 homicides in Toledo.
