(Toledo, OH) The region may be celebrating the fourth of July, but others are already thinking back-to-school.
The Salvation Army launches its annual Tools for Schools drive today, seeking backpacks and school supply donations for needy kids across the area. Last year, the Salvation Army was able to provide supply-filled backpacks to more than 1,200 students in Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa Counties. 100 Toledo Public Schools teachers also received classroom supplies.
Collection sites are being set up at Packo's restaurants, Office Max, Sky Zone, 18 Burger King locations, and the Walt Churchill's markets in Maumee and Perrysburg. The supply drive runs until July 27th.
Any family who needs a backpack can register by calling 211.
