Storer Camps Celebrates 100-Year Anniversary

(Toledo, OH) A Toledo YMCA camp is celebrating a century of service to families and kids.

Storer Camps across the border in Michigan is 100 years old this summer, so the YMCA plans a weekend celebration of that century of memories called 100 Years of Campfire Stories.

Family-friendly activities Saturday will include nature hikes, tours, horse rides, a climbing tower, boating, ending with a closing campfire at dusk.

Storer Camp started in 1918 as a retreat for boys from the Toledo area deemed "ar-risk." The original 200-acre site at Stony Lake has expanded over the years to a 12-hundred acre camp, hosting dozens of different types of camps every year, serving generations of families and students over the past century.

There are many families staying in cabins and camping outdoors the entire weekend.
