Marina District Developer Seeks Public Financing

(Toledo, OH) The Marina District developer is seeking public financing to start construction.

The Toledo-Lucas County port authority board will vote today on whether to issue $45 million worth of bond financing to jump-start construction of the Marina District project.

The bonds would go toward building a retail and residential complex proposed by a Columbus developer. The 360-unit residential complex recently was expanded to include a medical office complex at the corner of Front and Main in East Toledo. A Marina District Metropark also is in the planning stages.

The developer of Gateway Lofts had expected to break ground last month and open sometime next year, but the financing now would suggest the project is a bit behind its original schedule.
