Bike Trail Could Extend to Wauseon

(Toledo, OH) Metroparks Toledo is looking to extend a bike trail all the way to Wauseon.

The Metroparks board will hire an engineering firm today to draw up construction plans for extending the north fork of the Wabash Cannonball Trail. That work would take the biking-hiking trail from the Lucas-Fulton County line to State Route 109 near Delta.

But $2.5 million state and federal funds would be used to pave that six-mile trail extension after designs are done. The work is the first step in eventually extending the trail to the Fulton County seat.

The Wabash Cannonball Trail was first built nearly 15 years ago and extends in a 26-mile triangle shape through the Oak Openings region.
