NEXUS Pipeline Under Construction in Wood County

(Bowling Green, OH) Construction of a controversial pipeline is underway in Wood County with no problems reported so far.

Nearly 18 miles of the NEXUS natural gas pipeline is being buried from east to west across Wood County, mostly in farm fields, but work that is visible to commuters along I-75.

Bowling Green city leaders got a briefing this week on the project after raising concerns about the pipeline's route so close to the city's source of drinking water. But so far, there have been no problems and B-G officials are praising the promised oversight by the Ohio EPA.

NEXUS says the natural gas pipeline will mean nearly $23 million in tax revenue for Wood County in its first five years of operation and has created 340 construction jobs. The pipeline is expected to on-line sometime this fall.
