(Toledo, OH) Free midday parking in downtown Toledo could soon be history.
Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz is proposing the end of free parking between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., saying it's not necessary as a gimmick to draw visitors downtown. The mayor says the energy and activity downtown now means free parking is no longer needed.
Any revenue generated if there is a change would only pay for downtown improvements, such as bike lanes or a park.
The mayor intends to float the idea at a public meeting scheduled for the downtown public library next Wednesday evening.
