Marina District Metropark Plans Take Shape

(Toledo, OH) You have a chance to learn more about the Marina District Metropark this week.

There's a public meeting Thursday to give an update on the planning process for a new waterfront park along the Maumee River across from downtown Toledo.

The open-house style meeting will begin with a brief presentation, while Metroparks staff will be on hand at information stations afterward to talk with residents about the plans. Metroparks intends to buy 70 acres of land in the Marina District-- and the same company that created master plans for the Middlegrounds and Howard Marsh Metroparks will do the same for the new park, which will be part of the Ohio Water Trail now designated along the Maumee.

The meeting runs 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Navarre Park shelterhouse.
