(Holland, OH) The Holland Strawberry festival is in season this weekend.
The festival is already underway at Community Homecoming Park, but the fun runs through Sunday. There is festival food, crafts, rides, games, bingo, and a strawberry bake-off, along with all things strawberry for sampling and sale. The Blue Leafs make their first-ever festival appearance, providing live music Saturday evening, with a mix of classic rock from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Saturday at 6 p.m. is a rib eating contest. Sunday features the annual festival parade through the streets of Holland.
Friday night in Toledo has lots of fun ways to kick off the weekend. The annual Summer Disco Party features the sounds of the band Disco Inferno at Centennial Terrace in Sylvania. The annual Zoo-to-Do fundraiser will have people dressed in tuxes and shorts at the Toledo Zoo.
Chart-topping country act the Eli Young Band plays the Promenade Park concert series this evening in downtown Toledo, along with a home Mud Hens game tonight with fireworks.
A day on the farm awaits families in Wood County tomorrow. The Heritage Farm Fest is a day full of activities to experience 1930's farm life at the Carter Historic Farm in Bowling Green. There will be live music, wagon rides, games, pie-eating contests animals,a nd a cross-cut saw competition from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Waterville Chamber of Commerce is inviting you to “rock the block” tomorrow night. The chamber will shut down Third Street for an evening festival featuring food trucks and live music. Admission is five bucks to the event, which runs 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday.
The Walbridge Open Air Marketplace will feature three dozen craft and art vendors, along with food trucks tomorrow. Proceeds from the event will go to military families in the area. The marketplace runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the State Bank and Trust parking lot in Walbridge.
