(Toledo, OH) A new I-475 interchange at Dorr Street could take another step forward in the next week.
Toledo city council will get its first look at a cooperative agreement with ODOT and the Lucas County engineer for preliminary work toward a new interstate entrance and exit at Dorr Street.
Toledo would contribute $1 million from its capital improvement fund for the project. ODOT is taking care of property purchases and other rights-of-way, while the county engineer would be responsible for designing the interchange. Designs show roundabouts on either side of I-475.
ODOT has indicated more than 20 houses will need to be demolished to make way for the road widening and interchange construction, which is expected to begin in 2020 on the $40 million project.
