(Wauseon, OH) One Fulton County community will celebrate the opening of a new public pool today.
For the first time in a decade, Wauseon's kids and families can go to the Reighard Park pool for a day of swimming and splashing.
Voters passed a two-and-a-half million dollar levy to fund construction of the pool facility, which includes a standard pool, a laned pool for competitions, and a shallow pool for younger children, a water slide, a concession stand, and a new bike rack.
The pool is built on the same site of a former park pool first built in 1941during the Works Progress Administration that had fallen into disrepair and got demolished.
There's an official dedication ceremony later today, even though the public pool had a soft opening during the recent heat wave following Memorial Day weekend.
