Downtown Sylvania Road Construction to Start

(Sylvania, OH) Downtown Sylvania will be redecorated with orange barrels starting today.

A major road construction project starts on main street in downtown Sylvania, expected to last the entire summer. The project will run from Monroe Street to the Ten-Mile bridge and includes extensive work--- including storm sewer replacement, wider sidewalks, full pavement reconstruction, light pole replacement, and signal upgades. Even decorative crosswalks will be installed.

The work will happen in four phases, because the project has to be coordinated with the LPGA golf tournament in July and the start of school in August.

There will be one-way traffic during one phase, and the closure of an entire intersection during another phase. Downtown businesses during their busy summer season are likely to be adversely affected.
