Ohio Turnpike to Post Memorial Worker Sign

(Swanton, OH) The Ohio Turnpike is honoring one of its own today.

Turnpike officials are dedicating a memorial sign today as part of an effort to ask motorists to move over for vehicles with flashing lights on highways. Kenneth Geiger lost his life 35 years ago while doing highway maintenance in a work zone along the toll road.

The sign is being installed at mile marker 47 near the Swanton turnpike maintenance garage. Replica signs will be given to members of his family at a ceremony to be led by the director of the Ohio Turnpike.

The memorial sign is hoped to be a reminder to drivers to move over or slow down for highway workers and first responders.
