Former Mayoral Candidate Sentenced For Theft

TOLEDO, Ohio - A former Toledo mayoral candidate will spend time in prison for theft.

WTOL 11 reports Jim Moody was sentenced Tuesday to 6 1/2 years in federal prison for stealing money from a job training company.

Moody and three others have been sentenced for stealing from BRIDGES, a company he helped set up to provide job training.

During the trial, Moody admitted to putting his wife on BRIDGES' payroll so she could collect social security benefits she was ineligible for.

Moody ran for mayor in 2009.
