Ohio Governor Opens Roads To Self-Driving Vehicles

(Columbus, OH)   Self-driving vehicles could soon be rolling on roads across Ohio.

Governor John Kasich signed an executive order Wednesday to authorize autonomous vehicle testing statewide.

The order includes safety requirements for the tests and creates a program to join self-driving car companies to local governments.

In order for a company to start testing, the vehicle must have an employee behind the wheel and must meet certain safety standards before testing begins.  The company will also have to register with the state and provide info on the testing vehicle and location.
